Bio

Justine E. Meyr received her Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Applied Linguistics from UCSB in 2018 and a Masters in Latin American and Iberian Studies from UCSB in 2010.  Her passion has lead her to conduct research on exploring language acquisition as it intersects with technology.  Her research areas include: computer-assisted language learning (CALL), telecollaboration for intercultural learning, language maintenance and community building in the language classroom.  Her dissertation research focused on building a virtual language community in an online telecollaboration between U.S. and German University students.  She has extensive training in the Spanish Language, studying and working abroad in both Spain and Chile, as well as traveling throughout Latin America.  She has worked as an English, Spanish and German instructor in private as well as public institutions.
